Kinetic Precision - PFG Stones

Shipping and Payments

About Shipping and Payments

Before there is Shipping, there is Production. We try to keep just the right level of inventory, and your products may be in stock, but we treat every order as if it were built-to-order. Allow up to two weeks prior to shipping.

Kinetic Precision ships from the USA.

Unless the international shipping rate you choose explicitly says “Delivered Duty Paid (DDP)”, you are responsible for duty and other Customs charges upon arrival in your home country.

We use USPS, Global Post, and UPS for international shipments. If you do not get a shipping option for your country, please contact us, and we can set that up.

In-person pickups…

I have tried to create a shipping option which is basically “Hold for Pickup”. When I do create that option, it’s not long before I get an order from Antarctica choosing that option, erroneously. So, we have a new procedure. If you live in the area, and really want to pick up your order in Windham NH:

  1. Place a normal order with normal shipping. Note your order number.

  2. Use the Contact page to email me, and ask me to hold your order for pickup. Give me your order number and thoughts about schedule. I will work with you to set the appointment.

  3. After you pick up your order, I will refund 100% of your Shipping charges in the same manner you paid them.

  4. In the unlikely event of a communications breakdown, your order gets shipped normally.

Local pickup does not happen very often, but I think this method is foolproof. And if you really are in Antarctica, let’s talk.

USA SHIPPING

If you have a question, please ask before placing your order.

If you create a product order, prior to payment you will be offered all the shipment options for the destination, size and weight you've chosen.  If you would like to use a carrier or shipping speed that is not listed for your order, please ask before placing your order.

US orders have the advantage of automatically calculated rates for packages sent via UPS and USPS. This is reliable and simple.

International Shipping

PLEASE enter a phone number for your address in International shipments. Thanks.

We will NOT use GlobalPost, ever. Never, never, never ever!!

We generally offer two international options: UPS Worldwide Saver, and USPS Priority Mail International. If you require some other service please contact us.

If you are NOT offered a shipping option for your country, we may have to create one. This takes a bit of research, but we are happy to do it. This should result in ongoing shipping rates for your country on our store. Just contact us.

Unless otherwise specified, ALL SHIPMENTS ARE DELIVERED DUTY UNPAID (DDU)!

Unless we specifically offer a “DDP” rate for your country,
WE DO NOT COLLECT VAT, taxes, or duty!
You are likely to need to settle those charges upon its arrival at customs in your country.

If, for any reason, you fail to pay your country’s VAT, taxes or duty, we are NOT responsible for the consequences!

Harmonized System Numbers (HS) are four- or six-digit codes administered by the World Customs Organization to classify products being traded around the world. HS numbers are recognized globally and serve as the foundation for the United States' import/export classification system. The Harmonization code (HS) for PFG Stones is “6804.30.0000 - Hand sharpening or polishing stones”.

Kinetic Precision’s EIN number, which is needed for Customs forms, is: 46-0517154

If you have a question, please ask before placing your order.

CANADA!! — UPDATED 16 DEC 2023

Well, my, how things have changed. We recently had two Canadian customers tell me about their experiences with UPS, Brokerage Fees, and Provincial Taxes. This really sucks. So, I consulted with my Canadian customers, and they told me that USPS is the best way.

Look for USPS Priority International for your shipments to Canada. (It should be clearly marked for you folks.)

If your shipment is valued UNDER $500 and 4 pounds or less, it qualifies for a program called “DDP” or “Delivered Duty Paid”. This will cost an additional $9.95 for Priority Mail International, but based on the grief that customers were getting with UPS it sounds like a bargain. You will be automatically getting DDP for weights 4 pounds and under.
